Obituary
Marianne Amelia Conci of Penticton, wife of the late Christopher Epp, passed away surrounded by friends and family after a lengthy battle with MS and ALS on September 22, 2024 at the age of 71 years. Born in Rossland BC , July 2, 1953, to the predeceased Frank B. and Dirce Conci, Marianne moved to the Okanagan with her parents and brothers in 1957. After completing high school, she went on to study at UBC in Vancouver. Returning to the Okanagan in the 1970’s she raised her children, Jim McKitrick and Bridget Gillberg in and around the Penticton area.
As a mother, musician, interior designer and entrepreneur Marianne excelled at all she set her mind to, winning several industry awards during her career. Marianne’s hobbies included playing music, gardening, cooking, travelling and a host of other activities. Marianne will be remembered for her generosity, kind nature, welcoming attitude, and positivity.
As well as being a much loved and honoured mother Marianne was doting Grandmother Oma, to Rosemary McKitrick, Emma, Logan and Adam Gillberg. Marianne is also survived by brothers Frank J. Conci, wife Laurie – children Robert and Lindsay; and David Conci, wife Karen – children Jennifer and Marlena. At Marianne’s request, a celebration of life is being held at a later date.
