Obituary
Jan Erik Wahlen of the city of Penticton passed away in his home on June 29th 2023 at the age of 80. Erik is survived by his son Jan (Kendra) and daughter Kristina; grandchildren Maya and Nathan. Erik is also survived by his brother Len (Brenda), Jon Thomas, James and family. Erik was born in Östersund, Sweden in 1942 and his family immigrated to Canada in 1949. He enjoyed going to school in Sweden, learning several languages and spending time with his cousins. Once his family immigrated to Canada, they worked at a floating logging camp in Sointula and later at a guest ranch in the Caribou before relocating to Vancouver. In 1970, Erik moved to Penticton and married Ann and started a family. He enjoyed selling real estate and appreciated his time living in the Okanagan with friends and family. Erik had a great love of traveling to Mexico and spent most of is winters living in Melaque. He loved the sun and spending his days reading his beloved books. He will be missed.
A memorial service will be arranged at a later date.

Erik was a great friend,never lost his temper.He was very smart and we had a lot of fun together.Coffee at McDonalds with all his friends,he seemed to know all the old timers from the 70’s and 80’s and enjoyed conversations.Erik will be missed by a lot of people
