Obituary
Gloria Jean Verellen, 71, of Kelowna, BC, passed away peacefully at the hospice house in
Kelowna on Friday, November 29, 2024. She was born on December 28, 1952, in Stratford,
Ontario. She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, seven grandchildren (one grandson
who pre-deceased her on May 31, 2004) one great-grandson, and many wonderful friends and
neighbours. Rest in peace, Mom. You will be forever missed.

Our sympathies to you and may God minister gently to your hearts .. each as you need it.
I’m glad we got to say our goodbyes to her. She will be missed in our neighborhood and in our hearts. She kept us well entertained in many ways over the years in the tenacious spirit she lived by. She was strong and capable and utterly determined in whatever task she set her eyes upon. From collecting bottles, growing the most unusual tulips, clearing every last weed from the driveway or putting down her own tasks to help us pull cooch grass that infested our gardens. Anytime we asked for help she gave it. Anytime we sat and chatted she made us laugh and laughed along with us. She was always ready for a coffee and a chat. I know she had many redeeming qualities in her heart and God knew her far better than any of us. God bless her in her eternal sleep. May she tend to the gardens in Heaven now.
