Our deepest condolences to Jaki, the boys, and the entire family. Kane 🤍 truly an honourable man, filled with lots of love, kindness, a wealth of knowledge and compassion he was always willing to share with his community. We were truly blessed to know him. He is dearly missed.

From: Sheila Pace
Relation: My son was one of his best friends

Kane was an incredible person. Always a ready smile and a welcoming word. He was kind to one and all and very fun. He always spoke so lovingly of his wife, saying ‘I married the best and most beautiful person’. He will be greatly missed My Dad wrote this poem over 50 year ago. I hope it brings some comfort

Why?

Life is the great mystery, God disdains reply
To the impertinent questioning of Man’s untrusting “Why?”
Crosses and tribulations are but blessings in disguise
The things that bring us sorrow are sent to make us wise,
We must hope, we must trust before the latest threat,
We must pray, not despair – the future is not yet,
The light that dims anear has another birth afar,
When doubt assails uplift your eyes, God has lit another star,
Your flame once lamed burns bright and bold
On you through the mists from the Horizon of Gold.

We will miss Kane immensely at Rust Winery. He was always so forthcoming in welcoming guests & friends each time you visited. He had done a wonderful job of transforming the winery to a comfortable, venue with a fantastic view. His smile was contagious and I am heartbroken 💔 to think I will never see him again. RIP dear Kane & God Bless your wife & young children🙏

LINDA AND GEORGE: I remember that adorable blonde little boy! There are no words that can help you right now. Sometimes it is hard to find meaning in anything after such a cruel and senseless tragedy. My thoughts are with you at this terrible terrible time.

From: Suzanne Sturgess
Relation: Old friend

To Kane’s wife and kids, I may not have ever met you but Kane was such a strong influence in our awkward teen years. He taught me how to drive a standard car, showed up at our home randomly for visits and borrowed my mom’s miles Davis CD just because he was that kinda guy. He questioned everything, and never followed the “norm”. On a whim he decided to ride his bike from Victoria to Whistler where I lived, just for fun. He stayed the night and then was gone the next day in the blink of an eye. That was just Kane. Our paths may not have crossed the past decade but I still thought of him often. I can only imagine he married a woman just as strong as him and those boys will too have his unique zest for life. My heart breaks for you all. Linda and Remy and all the other family, you have lost a real gem. I hope you can all find peace and comfort today. I am sorry not to be there but I will be watching online.

From: Claire O'Neill
Relation: Through his sister Remy.

We are so sorry for your tragic loss, and are keeping Kane and all the Morgan family in our prayers. Love, the Drummonds

From: Deborah (nee Swenson) McInnes
Relation: Friend of Linda Morgan

Linda – I stand beside you in your grief. We’ve often talked of Remy and “Bossy Kane” who’d spend sick days at our house in White Rock and received the ultimate crushed pull remedy. Our McInnes family sends our deepest condolences.
