Obituary

William “Bill” MCConnell of Penticton beloved husband of the late Linda Tennant passed away peacefully after a short illness on December 12, 2023, at the age of 80 years.

Born in Picton, ON, October 5, 1943. Raised in Belleville, ON, he graduated from Quinte Secondary School. He attended and graduated from both Belleville Business College and Ontario Business College. In 1967, he married Sue and moved to Sudbury to become a miner. Bill and Sue welcomed 3 children during their marriage. After the marriage dissolved, Bill started his western adventures. In 1979, he moved to Edmonton and made it his home to be near his children. He worked as a miner in Uranium City, SK. In the mid 80s he even had a northern adventure and lived and worked in Yellowknife, NWT. As always when he wasn’t mining, he worked in sales. He walked the world doing door to door sales, selling roofing, exterior siding and many other products. In the late 80s he moved to Penticton, BC. It was here he made his final home and met Linda. During his time in Penticton, he worked at the hockey school as night security, delivered papers with Linda and many different sales jobs. He spent a good amount time volunteering with service organizations including the Knights of Pythias. He will be missed by each and every one of them. Bill is survived by his daughter Angela Christianson (Kenneth Patriquin) of Edmonton, AB, sons, Patrick McConnell and Donald McConnell both of Edmonton, AB, grandchildren; Margaret Christianson of Grande Prairie, AB, Andrea Alexandra of Edmonton, AB, Kirsten Christianson Edmonton, AB, Taylor Byng of Edmonton, AB, Randeen Christianson of Edmonton, AB, Quinn Callieou of Edmonton and Keen McConnell of the Philippines. Bill is also survived by one sister, Marilyn Masterson(Mike) of Tweed, ON.
